Rights Issues

The main objectives for this theme is to discuss and share experiences on the legal issues relating to educational repositories. Network members will agree on what the most important aspects of these broad issues will be - based on survey, existing initiatives and current repository developments.

The list of issues includes - but is not limited to:

• Providing guidelines for users/teachers/producers
• Repository deposit licenses (including discussions on Open Educational Resorces)
• Rights clearance practices
• Strategies for providing copyright cleared material for education
• Protection of rights: Digital Rights Management

This will be explored through two expert workshops (follow links on the right for details) and result in a thematic synthesis report covering these issues.
